Airbnb Bathroom Essentials Checklist (Per Bathroom)
The non-negotiables:
- Hand soap next to the sink
- Toilet paper starter supply
- Trash can + liners
- Toilet brush + plunger — one per bathroom
- Hair dryer
- Makeup washcloths
- Bath mat

Towels + Bath Mats: What to Provide
A simple approach that works for most homes:
- Bath towels: about 1.5 per guest, rounded up
- Washcloths: 1 per guest
- Hand towels: 2 per bathroom — one out and one backup
- Makeup cloths: 2–4 per bathroom
- Bath mats: 1 in use per bathroom + 1 clean backup in the owner closet
I like a washable bath mat that can be swapped quickly during turnovers, which is why I keep one in use and one clean backup per bathroom.
I also keep one extra towel set equal to maximum occupancy in the owner closet for tight back-to-back turnovers.
If guests have access to a washer/dryer, leave laundry detergent and keep towel quantities reasonable you’d be surprised how many guests start a load of towels before they leave.

I use refillable hand-soap bottles because they keep the sink area looking consistent and make it easy for housekeeping to check and top them off between stays. Bonus: guests remember a great soap scent.

- 1 extra sealed roll per bathroom
Trash Can Liners
Tuck a few extra liners in the bottom of the trash can, so guests can take trash out without hunting for replacements.
Shower Products: Pump Bottles vs. Wall-Mounted Dispensers
Both work — it depends on the vibe of the home and how hands-on your turnover checks are.
If the bathroom uses a shower curtain, start with a clean liner and keep one replacement in the owner closet. Liners can stain or mildew quickly, so having a backup makes an unexpected turnover swap simple.
Option A: Matching Pump Bottles (more “at-home” feel)
Best for: casual/coastal homes, family stays, easy housekeeping checks

- Needs more frequent refilling—build it into your turnover routine
- Still requires backup refills in the owner closet
